D’ordinaire, je m’inspire de pages de magazines mais aujourd’hui je me rends compte que je parcours beaucoup plus les blogs que ces derniers. De plus la mode et les postures y sont, la plupart du temps, moins figées.

Je referais donc sans doute des tableaux inspirés par les filles qui font la mode sur internet.

Habituellement lorsque je m’inspire d’une photographie, je modifie davantage les couleurs.

Ici, l’harmonie était parfaite entre la robe liberty, le sol du balcon, la laine du bonnet et le gilet gris.

J’ai aussi aimé le décalage entre la pose champêtre et la ville en arrière plan. Tout se passe comme ci cette terrasse était une bulle, un jardin d’hiver.

In a recent article, Lord Monckton pointed out that, far from suffering from global warming, the planet has experienced “rapid and significant cooling” over the past nine years.

That bears repeating. Over the past nine years the world has experienced “rapid and significant cooling.” There has been no global warming—it is a Big Lie.

The whole “global warming” myth is a scam, a fraud, and most significantly, a crime.

We need to start throwing some of the people responsible for this outrage into jail. And we need to start suing to get our money back, and stop this swindle by corrupt politicians, Marxist ideologues, and their dupes.

I say “Marxist ideologues” because behind the veneer of Progressivism, Communitarianism, Statism, Global Collectivism, et al., is an agenda that is rooted in Marxist/Communism.

When the Cold War ended, the old bugaboo of Communism didn’t just go away—it hid for awhile, and then reemerged in new clothes. People wearing those “new clothes” are now running the U.S. government, and “we the people” are increasingly waking up to that fact.

In the “boiled frog” scenario, a frog in a pot of water is cooked to death if the temperature is slowly increased by small increments, but jumps out of the pot, if the temperature is abruptly increased.

America was being “boiled alive” quite nicely, thank you, until the Obama Administration came along and cranked up the heat. Now the “frog’s” awake—and wants to get the heck out of the pot. Our lives depend on it.

These wolves in sheep’s clothing are hell-bent on “social justice,” “sustainable development,” and “redistributing wealth.” They are dedicated to wiping out America’s middle-class, destroying America as a world power, and installing a repressive planetary regime that will quash individual liberty, and freedom of expression.

One of the chief ways that they are going about doing this, is through crippling America’s production capacity, by making it exorbitantly expensive, illegal, or impossible, to produce food and goods.
Agenda 21, Carbon Credits, Global Warming Scam

The Cap and Trade bill is designed to put the finishing touches on a process already well underway, via the UN’s Agenda 21, and laws enacted because of the “global warming” scam.

Corporation shareholders should be insisting that their CEOs instigate lawsuits to recover funds paid for “carbon credits” and other expensive nonsense.

Taxpayers should be instigating class-action lawsuits to reclaim the money that has been misspent in various bogus “global warming” agendas.

And yes, people who were instrumental in propagating the “global warming” fraud, should be sent to jail.
The “global warming” lie, is the largest rip-off in history. It is nothing less than the criminal attempt (largely successful) to defraud the public, and bilk us out of billions, possibly trillions, of dollars.

The LSM (Lame Stream Media) is doing their best to sweep Climategate under the rug—hoping that by ignoring it, it’ll just go away. “We the people” must insure that it is put on the front burner, and stays there.

Let’s get out of the pot, and put them in it.

More plod hubris unfolds…

Not really a surprise.

The story begins this July when photographer Alex Turner was stopped whilst taking snaps in Chatham High St and approached by two men, who refused to identify themselves, but demanded that he show them some ID. When he refused, they called for back-up. A PCSO and WPC arrived: Turner took a photo of the pair, and was promptly arrested.

He was then handcuffed, held in a police van for 20 minutes, searched in public by plain clothes officers before being released. It remains unclear, both from from his own account and from subsequent police explanations, exactly why he was arrested – although he did note at the time that the WPC stated she had felt threatened by his size – 5′ 11" and about 12 stone – and implied that she found it intimidating.

Mr Turner complained: a police internal investigation was carried out; and this week, the Investigating Officer (IO) finally got back to him with the very welcome news that, according to their barrister, his arrest was unlawful.

This would therefore render both the subsequent search unlawful as well as Mr Turner’s detention in a police van.

The Assertive Citizen, Protector of American Liberties

It is in timely fashion that this new blog, “Assertive Citizenry,” is established among the college age crowd as a call to arms against the current threats to America’s founding principles.  As William F. Buckley is famously quoted, “The best defense against usurpatory government is an assertive citizenry.”  This blog is where I intend to assert myself, as I would call on all my fellow freedom-fearing patriots to join with me.

As the Obama Administration and Congress spits in the face of our heritage, I can only smile as I see a country full of freedom-lovers doing their part as assertive citizens as well.  Gathering on Capitol Hill this fall with their “live free or die” flags waving in a cold autumn wind, the 3rd coldest on record to be exact, thousands of Americans are now calling “bullshit” on those whose policies are usurpatory.

One need not look any further than our very own Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, to find a perfect example of the liberal elite spitting in the face of our beloved Constitution.  When questioned about the Constitutionality of the current health care bills the matronly Pelosi’s only response was, “are you serious?” Yes Pelosi, the American people are serious about the Constitution.

Now, more than ever, is the time for the American people to assert themselves in the public square. As I sat listening to Representative Mike Pence (R-IN) give his inspirational keynote address in this year’s annual American Spectator dinner, I could only think how perfectly relevant his use of words given by Abraham Lincoln are in our current situation.  So as I wrap-up this first post I will leave you with the words of Abraham Lincoln, delivered in his home state of Indiana on his way to be sworn in as President of the United States.

I appeal to you, to constantly bear in mind that it is not with politicians, it is not with presidents, it is not with office seekers, but with you is the question: Shall the union and shall the liberties of the country be preserved? It is your business if the union of these states and the liberties of this people shall be lost, and it is your business to rise up.

Who Will You Trust?

There is but one Islam and when it comes to non-muslims, it is neither moderate nor peaceful, but hostile. Islam is built on the koran (words of allah) and the life of Mohammed (sira/biography) and traditions of Mohammed (hadith), as governed by sharia law. The sira and hadith are known as the way of the perfect man or ‘sunnah,’ an important concept in understanding muslim behavior. Sharia law adheres to the tenets of Islam and condemns freedom (of speech, religion, expression, association and inquiry), forbids equality (between men-women, muslims-others), and allows misogyny, pedophilia and killing of apostates. Islam offers non-muslims first an invitation to convert, then subjugation with heavy taxation, and finally jihad until you submit to Islam or die.

You must become your own advisor on all things Islam. As the government and media will not properly inform you, you must read and listen to sufficient history and current events to be able to critically evaluate media coverage, effectively question your elected representatives and identify politically correct but inaccurate statements. You will soon be capable of recognizing uneducated mis-information and practiced deception. For example, are bored youths on summer break causing a disturbance in France, or are muslim gangs rioting in the streets and burning cars to intimidate the French? If there is conflict in the news and no one mentions its cause, ask yourself if Islam is involved (as in Sudan, Kosovo, Kenya, Indonesia, Kashmir, France, or the United Kingdom).

Be aware of information sources – are you reading an apostate’s story, an imam’s talking points, a historian’s research. And if the author is university trained, consider the level of foreign funding to that university and how it might have affected its teachings. Read the koran and study the sunnah or meaningful commentaries on their content. (I suggest R. Spencer, W. Phares, W. Sultan, B. Gabriel, W. Shoebat, B. Ye’or, A. Bostom, I. Warraq and others.)

The questions and issues surrounding Islam are of grave concern for your life and liberty. Do not fall victim to wishful thinking, or the deadly trio of appeasement, accommodation and hopeful assimilation. It is time to challenge those who paint Islam and its history only with pretty colors or who spin current events to blame “western oppression” or poverty. Do not hold opinions you cannot justify about Islam. To do so invites disaster. Islam and sharia law are antithetical to Western liberties and our constitutionally protected rights. Who will you trust?

Do Not Render to Caesar What is God's

Click on the sidebar to go to their site. What is it?  Its a document worth reading. Its a statement of who we are as Christians and what we hold of value: life, marriage, and liberty. If you agree with it, sign the declaration. If you don’t, pray that your heart will pursue God and His direction for you.

I normally don’t get involved with “social issues” too much, but at some point we have to let people know what we believe in a civil, correct, unoffensive way. This is one way to do that.

Here is a quote from the end of the document:

Vaccine use halted after baby deaths

The Dutch health institute RIVM has stopped the distribution of a batch of Pfizer’s Prevnar childhood vaccine following the death of three babies shortly after being vaccinated.

The vaccine has been labeled ‘do not use’ and and new supplies have been made available to doctors.

The exact cause of the death of the infants is not yet known, the RIVM said. The babies died between one and 11 days after the vaccination.

Brave 10-year-old Arkansas boy refuses to say the Pledge of Allegiance, on principle

Adults worry about peer pressure.  Kids can goad other kids into doing stupid things, dangerous things, illegal things, and immoral things.

Pressure from adults on kids might be just as strong.

What about a 10-year-old kid who stands up to peer pressure, and stands for principle against adults who use all sorts of inducements to get him to do something he believes is wrong?

I offer a salute to Will Phillips of  West Fork School District, in Washington County, Arkansas.

Will believes homosexuals in America are not beneficiaries of  liberty and justice for all.  Will now refuses to stand and say the Pledge of Allegiance for that reason.

It’s probably not what I’d advise the young man to do to protest, but he has every right.  He’s thought it through, which may not be said for the substitute teacher and the school administrator who tried to pressure him into giving up on his principles.

Will Phillips isn’t like other boys his age.

For one thing, he’s smart. Scary smart. A student in the West Fork School District in Washington County, he skipped a grade this year, going directly from the third to the fifth. When his family goes for a drive, discussions are much more apt to be about Teddy Roosevelt and terraforming Mars than they are about Spongebob Squarepants and what’s playing on Radio Disney.

It was during one of those drives that the discussion turned to the pledge of allegiance and what it means. Laura Phillips is Will’s mother. “Yes, my son is 10,” she said. “But he’s probably more aware of the meaning of the pledge than a lot of adults. He’s not just doing it rote recitation. We raised him to be aware of what’s right, what’s wrong, and what’s fair.”

Will’s family has a number of gay friends. In recent years, Laura Phillips said, they’ve been trying to be a straight ally to the gay community, going to the pride parades and standing up for the rights of their gay and lesbian neighbors. They’ve been especially dismayed by the effort to take away the rights of homosexuals – the right to marry, and the right to adopt. Given that, Will immediately saw a problem with the pledge of allegiance.

“I’ve always tried to analyze things because I want to be lawyer,” Will said. “I really don’t feel that there’s currently liberty and justice for all.”

After asking his parents whether it was against the law not to stand for the pledge, Will decided to do something. On Monday, Oct. 5, when the other kids in his class stood up to recite the pledge of allegiance, he remained sitting down. The class had a substitute teacher that week, a retired educator from the district, who knew Will’s mother and grandmother. Though the substitute tried to make him stand up, he respectfully refused. He did it again the next day, and the next day. Each day, the substitute got a little more cross with him. On Thursday, it finally came to a head. The teacher, Will said, told him that she knew his mother and grandmother, and they would want him to stand and say the pledge.

“She got a lot more angry and raised her voice and brought my mom and my grandma up,” Will said. “I was fuming and was too furious to really pay attention to what she was saying. After a few minutes, I said, ‘With all due respect, ma’am, you can go jump off a bridge.’ ”

Will was sent to the office, where he was given an assignment to look up information about the flag and what it represents. Meanwhile, the principal called his mother.

“She said we have to talk about Will, because he told a sub to jump off a bridge,” Laura Phillips said. “My first response was: Why? He’s not just going to say this because he doesn’t want to do his math work.”

Eventually, Phillips said, the principal told her that the altercation was over Will’s refusal to stand for the pledge of allegiance, and admitted that it was Will’s right not to stand. Given that, Laura Phillips asked the principal when they could expect an apology from the teacher. “She said, ‘Well I don’t think that’s necessary at this point,’ ” Phillips said.

After Phillips put a post on the instant-blogging site twitter.com about the incident, several of her friends got angry and alerted the news media. Meanwhile, Will Phillips still refuses to stand during the pledge of allegiance. Though many of his friends at school have told him they support his decision, those who don’t have been unkind, and louder.

“They [the kids who don't support him] are much more crazy, and out of control and vocal about it than supporters are.”

Given that his protest is over the rights of gays and lesbians, the taunts have taken a predictable bent. “In the lunchroom and in the hallway, they’ve been making comments and doing pranks, and calling me gay,” he said. “It’s always the same people, walking up and calling me a gaywad.”

Even so, Will said that he can’t foresee anything in the near future that will make him stand for the pledge. To help him deal with the peer pressure, his parents have printed off posts in his support on blogs and websites. “We’ve told him that people here might not support you, but we’ve shown him there are people all over that support you,” Phillips said. “It’s really frustrating to him that people are being so immature.”

At the end of our interview, I ask young Will a question that might be a civics test nightmare for your average 10-year-old. Will’s answer, though, is good enough — simple enough, true enough — to give me a little rush of goose pimples.  What does being an American mean?

“Freedom of speech,” Will says, without even stopping to think. “The freedom to disagree. That’s what I think pretty much being an American represents.”

Libertarians probably on the whole are either atheistic, or else have no interest in how others wish to celebrate what are probably harmless religious festivals. However, there is a strong strand of liberal thought which argues the need for this: a strong conservative basis of morality and of generally-tolerated and supported institutions and customs. These have to have become generally established and have fairly universal support, before a real hard-liberal civilisation can evolve to be so durable that Gramscian-animated uprooters and deconstructors can gain no traction.

Why else would the NSDAP have spent so much effort trying to cut off or subvert the roots of the host-culture in Germany and then the world? Why, indeed, are our home-grown left (and it _is_ the “traditional left) trying to do the same thing here?

Hayek: “Emergencies Have Always Been the Pretext on Which the Safeguards of Individual Liberty Have Eroded”

Well-known Austrian economist Friedrich von Hayek wrote:

“Emergencies” have always been the pretext on which the safeguards of individual liberty have eroded.

Rahm Emanuel famously said:

Never let a serious crisis go to waste. What I mean by that is it’s an opportunity to do things you couldn’t do before.

Naomi Klein documented in the Shock Doctrine that the Neoliberals and Chicago school followers advocated a kind of “disaster capitalism”. Specifically, whenever a natural, economic, war-related, or other disaster strikes, these folks pounce and use the opportunity to quickly impose a brand of economic policy which benefits the elite at the cost of everyone else (by increasing unemployment, pushing the cost of essential goods through the roof, and otherwise increasing poverty), while people are still in shock and before they can react.

Publishers Weekly’s review of the Shock Doctrine puts it this way:

The neo-liberal economic policies—privatization, free trade, slashed social spending—that the Chicago School and the economist Milton Friedman have foisted on the world are catastrophic in two senses, argues this vigorous polemic. Because their results are disastrous—depressions, mass poverty, private corporations looting public wealth, by the author’s accounting—their means must be cataclysmic, dependent on political upheavals and natural disasters as coercive pretexts for free-market reforms the public would normally reject.

Amazon’s review of Klein’s book states:

“At the most chaotic juncture in Iraq” civil war, a new law is unveiled that will allow Shell and BP to claim the country’s vast oil reserves… Immediately following September 11, the Bush Administration quietly outsources the running of the ‘War on Terror’ to Halliburton and Blackwater… After a tsunami wipes out the coasts of Southeast Asia, the pristine beaches are auctioned off to tourist resorts… New Orleans residents, scattered from Hurricane Katrina, discover that their public housing, hospitals and schools will never be re-opened.” Klein not only kicks butt, she names names, notably economist Milton Friedman and his radical Chicago School of the 1950s and 60s which she notes “produced many of the leading neo-conservative and neo-liberal thinkers whose influence is still profound in Washington today.”

And Pulitzer prize winning journalist David Cay Johnston provided an interesting example of disaster capitalism, noting that 2 days after 9/11, Congress was thinking about how to help the ultra-wealthy:

[Johnston]: Both parties are doing this. They’re doing it because they’re listening to a narrow group of very well to do people who do not want to pay taxes, who do not want to share in the expenses of the country that has made them rich. And they want you to pay their taxes. Those are the people who get access. Every politician will say you to, you can’t buy my vote. Generally, that’s true. The problem is that you and I don’t have the real access, and the proof that Congress is thinking about the super rich came two days after 9/11. The House Republican leadership introduced ten bills to address 9/11. One of them was a tax bill. What did it do? It gave estate tax relief, which did nothing for the firefighters and police officers and army sergeants at their desk and nurses and the busboy at the World Trade Center. All of those people that were killed. A tiny handful of people, but that’s what Congress thought these people needed, was estate tax relief even though 99% wouldn’t pay estate taxes.

[Interviewer:] It’s slipping it in as a very opportune time.

[Johnston]: That was just for this group of people. That was just for this group of people, but it’s indicative of what Congress is thinking about, what’s on the minds of Congress are not the concerns of ordinary Americans who want to educate their children, you know, who want to engage in enjoying life. Their concerns are about the super rich and within the super rich, those who are very anti-tax.

I am not passing judgment on whether estate taxes are good or bad. I am simply saying that emergencies and disasters are always used by the powerful to make the changes they want – even if wholly unrelated to the emergency.

England Is Already Part Of The Kaliphate

No, Westminster Abbey has not been razed and replaced with a mosque–but it is only a matter of time. Sharia  courts have already been established because the dhimmi UK government–and the shit-for-brains Archbishop of Canterbury–agrees it would be racist to hold Muslims accountable to western prohibitions against murdering women for alleged infidelity or for befriending infidels.

That the Brits are already a lost cause was evidenced in recent remarks by an Iranian envoy who said, among other things, that muslims in the British military should quit because the war in Afghanistan is against Islam.

Did he say the same about U.S. Muslims? Not so much. He had the opportunity, but instead, referencing the massacre at Ft. Hood, said only “that it should not be used to tarnish the image of the world’s 1.5 billion Muslim population.”

Why not ask the same of U.S. Muslims in the military? Because they are needed there to continue the dhimmification of the armed services–so bountifully on display throughout Nidal Malik Hasan’s career–and to wage jihad.

They aren’t needed in England because the battle is already won.

Same-Sex Marriage: Eucharist of Life

One reason that the question of same-sex marriage is so controversial is that different groups of people define marriage very differently. Marriage has a very particular meaning in Thelema which can inform our ideas and opinions about public policy concerning marriage.

The Mystic Marriage and the Marriage Feast

Crowley refers to both the mystic marriage and the marriage feast as symbols of the Great Work; that is, the union of microcosm and macrocosm; or, to put it another way, “to obtain a scientific knowledge of the nature and powers of [one's] own being.”

“The Tau and the circle together make one form of the Rosy Cross, the uniting of subject and object which is the Great Work, and which is symbolized sometimes as this cross and circle, sometimes as the Lingam-Yoni, sometimes as the Ankh or Crux Ansata, sometimes by the Spire and Nave of a church or temple, and sometimes as a marriage feast, mystic marriage, spiritual marriage, ‘chymical nuptials,’ and in a hundred other ways. Whatever the form chosen, it is the symbol of the Great Work.”

He also alludes to same-sex mystical formulae in his “Four Major Operations of the Microcosmic Star.” (See also his further notes concerning these Operations in Agapé 7, no. 3.) We will entrust our readers to discover first-hand the wonders of “the spirituality of Sodomy.” Aleister Crowley was bisexual and had no hesitation including all facets of his being in his magical experiments; nor were his numerous religious experiences limited to a heterosexual point of view on mystical realization and symbolism.

The symbolic marriage feast is, however, very different from the typical usage we find in American culture today, which refers to the formation of contracts of convenience, forming bonds of kinship and establishing all the legal rights that implies. Crowley is instead referring to any act of uniting with love under will. He offers us a very poetic definition in the prayer entitled “Marriage” in his Gnostic Mass:

“Upon all that this day unite with love under will let fall success; may strength and skill unite to bring forth ecstasy, and beauty answer beauty.”

For Aleister Crowley, marriage is not only the union of any two people; it is also the union of a person with an idea or object, and ultimately with each element in one’s environment in the “eucharist of life”:

[In the Second Degree of O.T.O.] I … show how [the pure soul] may best carry out its object in the eucharist of life. It partakes, so to speak, of its own godhead in every action, but especially through the typical sacrament of marriage, understood as the voluntary union of itself with each element of its environment.

In the question of marriage, it’s important to consider Crowley means when he uses the word. In some cases, he discusses mystical marriage, the marriage feast as a symbol of the Great Work, or the eucharist of life, as above, which can be expressed in countless ways not limited to heterosexual symbolism. This sense of marriage as union with each element of our environment also reflects Crowley’s comments on the nature of Love, which is not romantic love, but the larger concept of “… the enkindling in ecstacy of Two that will to become One.” In other words, Love is another word for this idea of mystical marriage, symbolic of the Great Work. With respect to all expressions of love, we find the following human right declared in words of one syllable:

Man has the right to love as he will:–
“take your fill and will of love as ye will,
when, where, and with whom ye will.”

Accordingly, in the case of romantic love, Thelemic churches do not create marriages, but merely celebrate and bless the marriages which naturally occur, on request. Crowley also writes extensively about marriage as a civil contract between people according to convenience. Clearly a little turf war going to go on between the electric-greenies who don’t want us to travel much, and the ethanol-greenies who also don’t want us to travel much. How funny.

You can’t distribute food in any modern sense without motor transport. That means, these days, trucks. Wonder whay I’ve never seen an electric 44-tonne HGV being promoted? Perhaps they want us all to starve and the Boss is right after all.

The 70th anniversary of World War II is being commemorated around the world, but the contribution of one group of soldiers is almost universally ignored. How many now recall the role of more than one million African troops?

Yet they fought in the deserts of North Africa, the jungles of Burma and over the skies of Germany. A shrinking band of veterans, many now living in poverty, bitterly resent being written out of history.

For Africa, World War II began not in 1939, but in 1935.

Italian Fascist troops, backed by thousands of Eritrean colonial forces, invaded Ethiopia.

Emperor Haile Selassie was forced to flee to the UK, but others, known as Patriots, fought on. Among them was Jagama Kello. Fifteen years old at the time, he left home and raised a guerrilla force that struck at the Italian invaders.

But for most Africans independence was still 15 years away.

In the meantime, the veterans had to get home and find a job.

Many found little gratitude for their years of service and no work.

In February 1948 veterans from Ghana, among them Kalimu Glover went to petition the governor.

But instead of receiving them, police opened fire. It sparked off an outpouring of anger on the streets of Accra.

“After the shooting, we said we should damage all British things in the city. We got stones, sticks to break down shops. We broke them all down. Those were wonderful days: February 1948, Saturday to Sunday.”

Mr Kebby is convinced that he and others like him helped end colonial rule.

“Every soldier who went to India got new ideas and learnt new things. We came back with improved ideas about life. We, the ex-servicemen, gave this country the freedom it’s enjoying today. We gave this freedom and handed it over to our country.”

For most of the day I have been watching the dog and pony health care show on C Span. Do they realize that with these 30 second plea’s that they should be as embarrassed as we are annoyed? Do they believe that they are going to change one persons vote? No, they do not. They only want to parade themselves in front of their constituents.   I hope that what I am about to say will not be misunderstood but as always I am going to say it anyway. I almost hope that all of the bills that are brought up by the democrats pass. That’s right, I said pass. Health care, cap and trade and anything else that they dream up. Let the people get what they think that they want. It is only through the pain of experience that people will grasp the damage that is being inflicted upon this nation and its people by our elected weasels.   Is this a hard stance? Yes it is but I have said from the beginning that I was willing to say and do what ever needs to be said or done. Our founders created this country at great hardship and danger to themselves and their families. Can we expect to keep this country without suffering and hardship also. Like everyone else, I do not want to pay that price but if it is required, that is the price that I am willing to pay in service to this country.   As I have said repeatedly, I do not fear for this country. As history has proven, when things are at their lowest, that is when Americans rise to their greatest. WHO Continues To Deceive: Assumes That Ukraine Plague Is H1N1 Swine Flu

The World Health Organization (WHO) is continuing to deceive the world by stating sweeping assumptions about the Ukraine pandemic. Despite huge differences in transmission and deaths rates, the agency stated Tuesday that it was valid to assume that most of the cases of influenza reportedly combing through the Ukraine were caused by the pandemic A(H1N1) virus.

There is very little left to be respected of the WHO. After months of using junk science and contradictions to conceal actual swine flu cases, they are now launching phase two of their deceptive operation: Convince the world that a more lethal strain of flu is still the same H1N1 virus.

Infectious disease expert Dr. Donald Lau explained that the chances of the Ukrainian pandemic being the same H1N1 virus that has infected the world are very low. “The statistical probability of this being the same H1N1 virus are infinitesimally small.” Dr. Lau stated that the high viral transmission rates are extremely unusual for H1N1 and there is almost certainly some type of new virus, or a lethal recombination that has occurred.

Dr. Lau speculated that the Ukraine government or the WHO may be withholding and/or suppressing information for some unknown reason. “There must have been some misrepresentation of actual deaths versus infection rates.” Dr. Lau has estimated the probable fatality rate of this new virus to be close to 0.5 percent which is astronomically higher than the H1N1 virus in any part of the world.

Ukrainian authorities on Sunday launched an urgent appeal for help from world powers after it imposed drastic measures to tackle a sudden surge of flu-like illness in the country.

Almost 500,000 cases of influenza and acute respiratory illness have been reported, according to approximate but official Ukrainian figures cited by the WHO.

“Given the potential significance of this outbreak as an early warning signal, WHO commends the government of Ukraine for its transparent reporting and open sharing of samples,” the UN health agency said in a statement.

“As the pandemic virus has rapidly become the dominant influenza strain worldwide, it can be assumed that most cases of influenza in Ukraine are caused by the H1N1 virus,” the agency said.

“Judging from the symptomalogy of the reported victims, it seems highly improbable that there are less than one-hundred deaths considering the amount of infections stated,” said Lau. The dominant H1N1 influenza strain has not been capable of producing such a large amount of infections or deaths in such a short period. “The H1N1 swine flu virus is mild in comparison to the influenza strain currently attacking the Ukraine, it is not the same virus or strain as what we’ve seen,” added Lau.

The expeditious rise in infections and deaths in the past few days raise many concerns that the virus is transmitting very efficiently. Spikes in cases have been reported throughout the northern hemisphere, but the increased fatalities and the frequency in hemorrhagic cases in Ukraine have particularly raised concerns.

The highest rates of “acute respiratory illness/influenza-like illness” were found in western areas, while they were also increasing rapidly around the capital Kiev, according to the WHO. Eighty-one people have died as a result of flu and acute respiratory infections, the Ukrainian health ministry said, but the pandemic A(H1N1) virus has been confirmed in only one of the fatal cases.

The WHO said a team of specialists who arrived in the country on Monday will initially focus on the Lviv region, where reported “severe” cases of acute respiratory illness “have been especially high.”

Samples from Ukraine have also been received by the WHO’s influenza research laboratory in London for tests.

“Many questions remain to be answered,” the WHO said.

“The outbreak in Ukraine may be indicative of how the virus can behave in the northern hemisphere during the winter season, particularly in health care settings typically found in eastern Europe,” it added.

Democrats Make Loss Out To Be No Big Deal

As I watched the news last night a glimmer of hope raised inside of me when I found that the Republicans had won in the Virginia and New Jersey votes. This shows that many of those who were seeking “change” with Obama are now seeing that his far left agenda is not right for America as well as with all left leaning politicians. It also reveals that the Democratic methods used to govern these states are not what the people want. And hopefully now realizing that they don’t need to be taxed through the nose to get their economy back on track, but have a leader that will simply spend frugally.

Now that the election is over we are hear from the Obama administration that it was no big deal to lose. With Robert Gibbs saying, that the election of Republicans to the governorships in Virginia and New Jersey was based on “very local issues that didn’t involve the president.” They may think that downplaying their loss will work on the American people, but it was clear to see during the campaigns that the story was quite different.

President Obama spent a considerable amount of time campaigning for the Democratic candidates in the weeks and days before the elections. Obama even said at one campaign rally for Jon Corzine, “I’m going to need you to knock on doors. I’m going to need you to make phone calls,” he said. “I’m going to need you to do the same thing you did last year.” Not to mention the commercials he did for Creigh Deeds, and the extensive hours he and Joe Biden put in just talking to people and rallying for their Democrat comrades.  And now they say it’s nothing, just some local stuff that has nothing to do with the President?

I beg to differ. I think it has everything to do with the President and the way that these politicians aligned themselves with him and his policies. People are finally waking up and seeing that this “change” isn’t working and want to even the playing field. Although it is faint and some what a small victory, it is still hope. Not the Obama kind of hope mind you, but the kind that the American people are becoming informed and will stand up for the liberty and freedoms that have been uniquely theirs for centuries.

What Election Day Means To Me

It means power.  It means people fighting for power over other people.  Dems want power.  Reps want power.  We all want power over each other.  Democracy is mob rule.  One vote distinguishes between oppressor and oppressed, slave and master.   Serve or rule.  Today it will be decided. 

We fool ourselves.  None rule.  All serve.  All are slaves to each other.  All are oppressed by each other.  Enslaved matsers.  A mob that destroys itself.  What an ugly system we have created.

House health bill totals $1.2 trillion over 10 years. Only covers 36mm American's

WASHINGTON – The health care bill headed for a vote in the House this week costs $1.2 trillion or more over a decade, according to numerous Democratic officials and figures contained in an analysis by congressional budget experts, far higher than the $900 billion cited by President Barack Obama as a price tag for his reform plan.
While the Congressional Budget Office has put the cost of expanding coverage in the legislation at roughly $1 trillion, Democrats added billions more on higher spending for public health, a reinsurance program to hold down retiree health costs, payments for preventive services and more.
Many of the additions are designed to improve benefits or ease access to coverage in government programs. The officials who provided overall cost estimates did so on condition of anonymity, saying they were not authorized to discuss them.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has referred repeatedly to the bill’s net cost of $894 billion over a decade for coverage.
Asked about the higher estimate, Pelosi spokesman Brendan Daly said the measure not only insures 36 million more Americans, it provides critical health insurance reform in a way that is fiscally sound.
“It will not add one dime to the deficit. In fact, the CBO said last week that it will reduce the deficit both in the first 10 years and in the second 10 years,” Daly said.
Democrats have been intent on passing legislation this year to implement Obama’s call for expanded coverage for millions, curbs on industry abuses and provisions to slow the rate of growth of health care costs nationally.
“Now, add it all up, and the plan I’m proposing will cost around $900 billion over 10 years,” the president said in a nationally televised speech in early September.
Whatever the final cost of legislation, the calendar is working increasingly against the White House and Democrats. While a House vote is possible late this week, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., may not be able to begin debate on the issue until the week before Thanksgiving. Additionally, the Republican leader, Sen. Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, has hinted at efforts to extend the debate for weeks if not months, a timetable that could extend into 2010.
One casualty of the time crunch and threatened Republican delaying tactics may be formal House-Senate negotiations on a final compromise. An alternative is a less formal hurry-up final negotiation involving the White House and senior Democrats.
Pelosi and her lieutenants worked on last-minute changes in the measure to ease concerns among opponents of abortion and a contentious provision relating to illegal immigrants. Conservative Democrats have expressed concern about the cost of the bill, and an evening closed-door meeting gave Pelosi and her lieutenants their first chance to hear their response.
The bill includes an option for a government-run health plan.
The leadership can afford more than two dozen defections and still be assured of the votes to prevail on the bill, one of the most sweeping measures in recent years.
Republicans put the cost of the bill at nearly $1.3 trillion.
“Our goal is to make it as difficult as possible for” Democrats to pass it, House Republican leader John Boehner, R-Ohio, said at a news conference. “We believe it is the wrong prescription.”
One day after announcing Republicans would have an alternative measure, Boehner offered few details. He said it would omit one of the central provisions in Democratic bills — a ban on the insurance industry’s practice of denying coverage on the basis of pre-existing medical conditions. Instead, he said the Republicans would encourage creation of insurance pools for high-risk individuals and take other steps to ease their access to coverage.
Rep. Mike Pence, R-Ind., the third-ranking leader, said that Democrats looked at their bill as a way to advance universal coverage. In contrast, he said, Republicans “believe the real issue back home is cost” of insurance, and said their alternative would be designed to tackle it.
Democrats have made elimination of the industry’s practice a linchpin of their drive to overhaul the health care system. The industry has said it would not fight the change, and an accompanying restriction on its ability to charge higher premiums for certain groups, as the legislation includes a requirement for individuals to purchase insurance. Lacking that, the industry says millions of relatively healthy individuals would refuse to pay for coverage until they became sick, and the cost of premiums would rise sharply for everyone else.
Republicans oppose any government requirements for individuals to purchase insurance or for businesses to provide coverage.
The Congressional Budget Office is seen by lawmakers as the arbiter of claims about the costs and effects of proposed legislation, and the agency has been under intense pressure in recent weeks to compete assessments on several bills circulating in House and Senate.
In a letter last week, the agency’s director, Dr. Douglas Elmendorf, said the net cost of expanding coverage in the House measure was estimated at $894 billion over 10 years, a figure reflecting a gross total of $1 trillion in federal subsidies as well as other spending.
The letter contained no similar assessment for the balance of the legislation and it was not clear when or whether one would be forthcoming.
In a letter last week to Sen. Max Baucus, D-Mont., on the general subject of health care, Elmendorf cautioned that some provisions in legislation have elements that raise costs and elements that lower costs.
“Tabulating all of the aspects of the proposal that would, in isolation, increase federal outlays would be complicated and would require somewhat arbitrary judgments” about calculating overall costs, Elmendorf said.

The Ethic Of The West

The Ethic of the West is a term coined in 1921 by a German social scientist, Max Weber, to describe the character of the people in the United States who live according to doctrines of individual competence and responsibility through personal achievement and free enterprise. This ethic sets the United States citizens apart from any others because it is upon this code of ethics that the United States Constitution was formed. “A people cannot remain free and civilized without moral purpose, constraints, and duties,” declares Mark Levin in Liberty and Tyranny. Moral ethics combined with individual freedom opens the door to creativity and enlightenment; hence, spiritual joy and material success thrive in such a climate. Economic and social success comes from effective use of fundamental truths of independence, self-reliance, and individual initiative. Underlying ethics stems from a belief in God, one that endows natural rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The United States is a civil society in which “. . . the individual has a duty to respect the unalienable rights of others and the values, customs, and traditions, tried and tested over time and passed from one generation to the next, that establish society’s cultural identity.” (Ibid)

In contrast, intellectual-elitists who believe in an all-powerful central welfare government have secretly infiltrated the United States governmental and educational systems since before World War I with the intent to erode the ethical standards upon which our Constitution was founded. The US Constitution has no more value to these liberal thinkers than an antiquated piece of paper that blocks them from reaching their goals. They have created Agenda 21, a collection of policies of “Sustainable Development” that moves private rights away from the individual to government control. The radicals believe in collectivism which creates groveling masses that depend, not upon an ethical standard of morals from God, but upon relativism and the wisdom of the ruling elite. William Penn says, “If men will not be governed by God, then they must be ruled by tyrants.” Without God, there is only man-made mandates. The premise that controlled citizens in a godless Utopian society can exist where responsibility will be removed from the personal to the dictatorial sphere is threatening to the core of the human spirit.

The pernicious man-made doctrine currently labeled “Liberalism,” or “Progressivism”
that was adopted from European liberal-intellectuals was implanted into the United States educational system as early as 1905. An organization, first known as the Student League for Industrial Democracy later branched into a group called “Americans for Democratic Action.” “The central theme, the object of this powerful movement that has captured not only most of the academic social scientists and historians, but places an ever increasing amount of adherents in the highly sensitive organs of the national government, is to collectivize the United States, preparatory to a world-wide socialist government. Our aim is “nothing less than world government.”

By the 1930’s, during the Great Depression, President Franklin Roosevelt and his Democratic Congress violated state sovereignty and private property rights with New Deal programs which placed enormous taxes and regulatory burdens on the private sector. It was a major break from constitutional principles and the founders’ ethics. The new programs actually delayed economic recovery from the depression, and they opened the doors to a flood of more progressive actions. Constitutional restrictions were breached by judges appointed by FDR and subsequently, through the years, by other liberal judges who interpreted the Constitution as a “living, breathing document” subject to interpretation. Legislation from the bench continues to be practiced today.

Arthur Schlesinger Jr. made the comment, “There is no sign that the capitalists . . . are putting up a really determined fight” against socialism in the Partisan Review, 1947. (Reprinted in the Congressional Record, Vol.107 in 1961).

By 1955, liberal-intellectual J. Kenneth Galbraith, in an essay, “Economics in the Art of Controversy,” made a statement that “The United States government no longer had a non-Keynesian (Socialist) choice.” [Richard Vitterli] It was too late for choice because insidious socialistic seeds had already been planted in the system.

“From the Communist point of view, the Liberal program is the Communist program at a preliminary stage in the dialectical unfolding of the revolution,” says Professor Burnham. A planted seed spreads as it grows through the years.

The extent to which these pseudo-intellectuals have carried forth their corrosion and have rotted the fabric of American society is a matter of conjecture; however, we’re witnessing an erosion of our personal liberties as one pernicious bill after another
is passed and executive orders are signed by the current Democratic administration.

The Ethic of the West is dying as the cancer of Socialism grows within the system. Is material security becoming more important than individualism? Is capitalism and free enterprise not valued? Are socialized labor and welfare programs and government regulated banks and health care systems as well as monopolistic trade unions more important than the free market system and values upon which the United States was founded?

Americans For Democratic Action is still in existence as a group. It is a strong organization with chapters dotted across the country. These quotes are found on the main page of the website www.adaction.org:
“ADA was founded by Eleanor Roosevelt, John Kenneth Galbraith, Walter
Reuther, Arthur Schlesinger and Reinhold Niebuhr shortly after FDR died.
It’s goal then? To keep the New Deal dream-its vision and its values of an
America that works for all–alive for generations to come.”

“With the election of Barack Obama, the moment to realize so many elements
of that long-deferred dream has come true–and ADA is a key player in making
the dream come true, working with the White House, Congress, and allied groups
in Washington even as it builds and mobilizes its grassroots network across the
country.”

In peeking under the rocks of hidden history, the question must be asked, “Is it alarming or merely defining to find familiar names on the roster of the ADA?” Two names, Barney Frank and Charles Rangel are listed as past presidents of this organization that was founded upon Socialistic principles!

Britain will be first country to monitor every car journey

“By next March a central database installed alongside the Police National Computer in Hendon, north London, will store the details of 35 million number-plate “reads” per day. These will include time, date and precise location, with camera sites monitored by global positioning satellites.

Already there are plans to extend the database by increasing the storage period to five years and by linking thousands of additional cameras so that details of up to 100 million number plates can be fed each day into the central databank.

Senior police officers have described the surveillance network as possibly the biggest advance in the technology of crime detection and prevention since the introduction of DNA fingerprinting…

The scheme is being orchestrated by the Association of Chief Police Officers (Acpo) and has the full backing of ministers who have sanctioned the spending of £24m this year on equipment.

More than 50 local authorities have signed agreements to allow the police to convert thousands of existing traffic cameras so they can read number plates automatically. The data will then be transmitted to Hendon via a secure police communications network.

Chief constables are also on the verge of brokering agreements with the Highways Agency, supermarkets and petrol station owners to incorporate their own CCTV cameras into the network. In addition to cross-checking each number plate against stolen and suspect vehicles held on the Police National Computer, the national data centre will also check whether each vehicle is lawfully licensed, insured and has a valid MoT test certificate.

“Every time you make a car journey already, you’ll be on CCTV somewhere. The difference is that, in future, the car’s index plates will be read as well,” said Frank Whiteley, Chief Constable of Hertfordshire and chairman of the Acpo steering committee on automatic number plate recognition (ANPR).

“What the data centre should be able to tell you is where a vehicle was in the past and where it is now, whether it was or wasn’t at a particular location, and the routes taken to and from those crime scenes. Particularly important are associated vehicles,” Mr Whiteley said.

The term “associated vehicles” means analysing convoys of cars, vans or trucks to see who is driving alongside a vehicle that is already known to be of interest to the police…”
